D Internet of Things is a study on the evolution of technology in the realms of sound. The way we perceive sound and the notion of music has transformed as a result of the growth of technology. With greater understanding in the mechanics, technicals and capabilities of technologies such as the world wide web, sound is constantly being reshaped, weaving between traditional forms and more modern, hegemonic forms of composition and listening.
The advancement of technology has also influenced the way we manipulate sound. From utilising it in war times as early missile detection systems, to architecture and design, sound and technology both go hand in hand and serve a purpose that is dictated by both space and time.
Technology is prevalent all around us in the modern society. But how aware are we of its capabilities and intentions? While technology can be used as a tool to influence sound and music to our advantage, it too can be used as a weapon against us. Conversations are no longer private, data is no longer secure. Sound can be a medium in which data persists and it can be tracked by the technologies that exist all around us and used against our will.
