For our next episode, we are thrilled to have Kin Leonn onboard with his interpretation of a post apocalyptic world.
Kin Leonn is a Singaporean musician and producer who is well known for his ambient compositions and performances. Following his founding role in the electronic group midst in 2015, Kin Leonn solo ventured into the world of ambient music where he released his debut album Commune in 2018 under Kitchen Label. He then when on to publish 2 more releases, the latest being Faraway Vicinity in 2020 where he collaborated with Hiroshi Ebina, a Japanese musician who performs gagaku – which is a traditional ritualistic form of music from Japan.
Having graduated from the London College of Music with a BA (Hons) in Music Mixing and Mastering, and as a recipient of the 2021 Spike Stent Award for high academic achievement, his compositions are skilfully crafted where carefully curated sounds are masterfully interweaved with one another to create an ethereal bliss.
For this month’s episode, Kin curates some of his musical inspirations behind his ambient endeavours. From the likes of Jon Hopkins to Chihei Hatekeyama, the mix is a utopic blend of field recording textures and atonal drones.
